Analog Missions – Break new ground!
The Little Moon City (LMCP) is a research and training centre for isolated experiments and simulation missions ready to serve various purposes across the scientific, business and industrial fields. Our team of experts believe we can contribute to your progress. LMCP is located on the CTU campus in Prague.
The Little Moon City Prague consists of a ground control center, a transport spacecraft and an improvised lunar surface, called an Extravehicular Activity (EVA) area. During the summer of 2024, the last part of the LMCP a subsurface accommodation (radiation shelter) will be operational.
02
Research with us
The main goal of the Little Moon City Prague is to simulate a ground-based version of the lunar station around the clock. The 24/7 operation of the center will begin during 2024. It enables data collection (atmospheric data of the station environment, biometric data of the crews, energy and supply consumption data), crew and technology training.
Technology Readiness Level (TRL)
Advancing the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of a product in one of the most extreme conditions on Earth, encompassing pressure, temperature and humidity.
analog space missions (ICE)
Providing on-demand simulated analog space missions within an Isolated, Confined and Extreme (ICE) environment, incorporating factors such as circadian rhythms shift and communication delays.
development and creation of new technologies
Participating in the development and creation of new technologies and patents in cooperation with scientific teams (for example developing virtual fitness coach specifically designed for the challenges of an ICE environment).

Welcome to our training center
1 / Hydronaut H03 Deep Lab Habitat
The main facility of LMC is Hydronaut DeepLabH03 habitat, a research and training station designed for short/long-term stays in isolated, confined and extreme environments (ICE).
Hydronaut is a mobile and hybrid station, it can be deployed both underwater and on land (operating depth up to 20 m).
It is designed for a wide range of research, from the effects of ICE environments on human psychology and physiology, group processes, to testing the functionality of technologies and products in extreme conditions.
The hydronaut weighs 35 tonnes, the pressurized volume of the habitat is less than 20 m3, equivalent to the cabin volume of the Orion spacecraft.
2 / The Mission Control Centre (MCC)
is equipped with habitat life-support systems, biometric crew control, communications and on-board systems. The MCC enables:
- 24/7 visual and acoustic crew monitoring
- Continuous monitoring of biometric parameters
- Monitoring of the internal atmosphere of the habitat
- Communication between the habitat and the MCC
- Secure data storage
- Flight programme planning and management using the Common Tongue on-board system
3 / Extravehicular Activity Area (EVA)
The dome serves as an extravehicular activity area (EVA area), a space for simulating a virtual reality ascent to the lunar surface.
The EVA area is connected to the Hydronaut habitat by a tunnel and allows crew ascent without disrupting the simulation by external influences.
